For amps in the old days, live at least, it seemed to be Ampeg VT-22s and Fender Super Reverbs. For shows since this reunion they seemed to use Vox AC-30s. Lloyd has stuff like old Supros, and Verlaine used a Mesa Boogie combo in some stuff you can find here over the years. The tone is more in their fingers and imaginations than gear, though…
Verlaine uses a Jazzmaster or Jaguar with really heavy strings, which has something to do with it – Lloyd almost always uses a Strat. In the late 70s they used Deluxe Reverbs exclusively but this is an early 90s recording.
My favourite bit is Lloyd’s bit of insane guitar-strangling from 3:06-3:22 or so.
I don’t doubt they trememdously influenced punk; but I see a more direct link to the Punk sound from bands like “the Sonics” (Listen, for example to ‘he’s waiting’ ).
dont u hate when ur walking in a hallway at school and it just so happens that you and just one other person are in the same hallway but they’re coming toward you, so you dont look at them or speak to them until they’re 5 inches away from you, EVEN IF THEY’RE YOUR FRIEND!

Richard Lloyd–great and underrated
I remember this lp as a righteous comeback
great song
Actually, he just goes nuts from 3:06 all the way to the end. I love Richard Lloyd’s playing. Not a bad songwriter, too.
